Galway’s Maroon and White Swim or Splash is back at Ladies Beach, Salthill on Sunday, April 14, at 10am. The challenge is to dip, dash or plunge into the sea to raise vital funds for Rahoon Newcastle GAA Club and the Galway Autism Partnership (GAP).

Cancer Fund for Children appoints new cancer support specialist for Galway

Rachel Duffy has been announced as Cancer Fund for Children’s new cancer support specialist for Galway. Ms Duffy, a native of Roscommon now living in Barna, will provide informal therapeutic, social and emotional support to children diagnosed with cancer, their siblings and families in Galway and throughout the west.

Call to introduce mental health supports for local primary school going students

As school children emerge from what has been an incredibly challenging and uncertain time, and with research last year showing that almost 20 percent of parents of primary school aged children have sought some form of mental health support for their child over the past two years, the National Parents Council Primary and St Patrick’s Mental Health Services are issuing a timely call for the development and introduction of additional primary schools-based mental health supports.
