The board of the Western Development Commission (WDC), the state agency responsible for the economic and social development of the West of Ireland has appointed a new chief executive with Allan Mulrooney stepping into the role from next month.

The newly renovated Three store on Shop Street has been unveiled as part of Three Ireland’s nationwide retail upgrade; a €27 million investment to transform its customer offering and retail stores across the country. The investment comes as Three moves to redefine the telecommunications sector and create a new category of retail stores for Ireland’s towns and cities with the newly revamped Shop Street store now open.
