With just seven weeks to go Body&Soul Festival - which takes place in Ballinlough Castle - has announced even more acts taking to the 2015 main stages. A mix of cutting-edge new talent and reunited fan favourites, this year’s programme lifts the lid on a summer sizzler festival set.

The Dean Crowe is set to celebrate the Summer Solstice with its third fair this Saturday June 21. The Dean Crowe Theatre and Arts Centre has been delighted to play host to a wonderful number of extremely talented local arts and crafts merchants since its first foray into holding fairs last Christmas. This is hoped to continue through the summer months and attract a wider catchment of potential buyers by targeting the tourists who will visit Athlone in their thousands this season.

A RHYTHM, dance, and fire, and spectacular to celebrate midsummer, takes place this Saturday, in Brigit’s Garden, Rosscahill, from 7.30pm to 11.30pm.

Castlebar Mitchels hurling club’s Hurling on the Green starts on Monday July 1 and will run for six weeks. The main sponsor is Deely Opticians and the club would like to thank Mark and Denise for their continued support of this fine project. Hurling on the Green is a fun hurling coaching camp for youth members of Castlebar Mitchels Hurling Club. New members are most welcome to join the club. Hurling equipment will be available for sale at subsidised rates for members. The coaching programme is designed to suit all age groups from six to 12. Hurling on the Green will commence on Monday July 1 and run for six weeks on The Mall, Castlebar, every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and Friday from 10am to 1pm. This year’s main coaches are Barry Lane and Alan Gavin and Cathal Walsh.

Body&Soul has pulled the first of a string of surprises from its sleeve with the announcement of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds for their fourth midsummer festival at Ballinlough Castle.

Body&Soul - the summer solstice festival in Ballinlough Castle - has announced that early bird tickets for 2013 have sold out. Making its fourth appearance in June this year the festival always promises to have a few surprises up its sleeve - and this year will be no exception.

This weekend sees the third of Westmeath’s four, highly-regarded boutique festivals to be held this summer, when the award-winning Body and Soul Festival kicks off tonight (June 29) in the grounds of Ballinlough Castle.
