When Cliona Standún took over as managing director of her family’s business, Standún in Spiddal, five years ago she was very nervous.

Earlier this year Specsavers staff from all across Ireland launched a search to discover the nation’s most fabulous specs wearer. From the thousands of entries received, Ana Jamimovic of Athlone, was selected as a finalist in the 25-39 category. The 2013 Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition saw a total of eight contestants across four age categories make it all the way to the final. The age categories were 16-24, 25-39, 40-59, and 60 plus.
