Skin cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Ireland, with around 13,000 new cases every year. Very worryingly, this number is projected to double by 2045. However, skin cancer is also one of the most preventable.

The HSE West is reminding the public to remain alert for the signs and symptoms of meningitis following three recent deaths, one of which occurred in Co Galway, from the illness.

An open evening will take place at Galway Hospice on Wednesday next September 14. The hospice team are inviting people from across Galway to pop in for a cup of tea and a chat about the work that the hospice does in our local community. The evening will give people an opportunity to meet the team at the hospice and to ask questions about hospice and palliative care.
