Claremorris project wins Airspeed Telecom and Enet Project of the Year (SME) at 2014 Tech Excellence Awards

AirSpeed Telecom, the leading provider of integrated licensed wireless with fibre telecommunications services to businesses in Ireland, and Enet, Ireland’s open access network operator, won the Project of the Year (SME) category at the 2014 Tech Excellence Awards this week. The award was received in recognition of the establishment of Claremorris in Mayo as Ireland’s first fibre town.

Claremorris aims to become the first fibre town

Claremorris’ businesses are being urged by their Chamber of Commerce to seize the fantastic opportunity available to become Ireland’s first fibre town. However, the development of the country’s first “fibre to the business” (FTTB) network in Claremorris will only happen if over 50 per cent of the town’s businesses sign up according to chamber president Jimmy Flynn.
