1,000 jobs announced for Athenry as Dexcom selects town for first European manufacturing site
IDA Ireland, together with Simon Coveney TD, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, announced today that Dexcom, Inc., a global leader in continuous glucose monitoring for people with diabetes, plans to build its newest global manufacturing facility in Athenry, Galway. The project is supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland and represents an investment of €300 million over five years and the potential to create up to 1,000 high skilled jobs over the same period.
New Meissner plant in Castlebar up and running
Meissner Filtration Products announced yesterday that their new manufacturing facility in Mayo is operational. The new facility features a state of the art 930 m² (10,000 ft²) ISO class 7 cleanroom, dedicated to the manufacture of Single-Use Systems. Validation of the facility was completed in mid-April and the facility is currently manufacturing products for their biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical client base.

In August the business received notification of FDA clearance, which will allow export sales to the USA.
