Medtronic this week opened a new Customer Innovation Centre in Galway, Ireland, providing state of the art facilities for physicians and Medtronic engineers to work together on developing new therapies that will improve clinical outcomes, provide economic value and increase access to quality healthcare for patients around the world. The Centre was opened by EU Commissioner for Innovation, Research and Science Ms. Máire Geoghegan-Quinn.

Medtronic global head William Hawkins will be in Galway next week as guest of honour at the launch of this year’s Galway Science and Technology Festival. The festival, which showcases Galway’s many science and technology companies and institutes to young people and families, will take place from November 8 to 21.
