Last Saturday was a memorable day for Kilkenny schools as Grennan College (Thomastown), Loreto Kilkenny and Castlecomer Community School all recorded All-Ireland victories in Trim Co Meath. The day began with Grennan College landing honours in the Roinn B title defeating St Louis Ballymena 4-9 to 3-3. Grennan playing into the breeze during the opening-half led 3-2 to 2-1 at half-time thanks to goals from Aine Lannon, Niamh Donnelly and Kelly Hamilton.

Thomastown easily retained their under-21 roinn A camogie crown as they defeated Mullinavat 1-14 to 2-1 in a disappointing encounter played in Ballyhale last Sunday afternoon. Never at any stage was there any doubt regarding the outcome, as only goals from Grainne Dalton and Julie Anne Malone kept Mullinavat in contention at half-time.

While they may not have gotten their five in a row on All-Ireland Sunday, the Cats added their five to the 2010 GAA All-star team.
