The first stage of the Galway City Water Conservation project, estimated to cost in the region of €800,000 and which will involve the installation of bulk water meters throughout the city, is set to begin at the beginning of next month.
South Connemara to benefit from €15million investment in water schemes
South Connemara water schemes are set for a €15 million investement to upgrade their infrastructure. The announcement was made yesterday by Phil Hogan, Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government as part of the Department’s Water Services Investment Programme 2010– 2012. The investment will specifically benefit the communities of An Cheathru Rua, Rosmuc, and Casla, with two new reservoirs at Rosmuc and An Cheathru Rua.
