Galway’s annual Pride Festival kicks off next Thursday
There is lots to look forward to during this year’s Galway Pride Festival which takes place next weekend. The entertainment begins on Thursday August 13 with Pride Youth Day, which is an alcohol free event in Fr Burke Park and features plenty of amenities for under 18s. The official launch of the festival takes place on Thursday evening in Monroe’s Live at 8pm with all the community invited. Well known local band The Cozy Cartel will provide entertainment on the night with finger food and wine to be served.

Year of Faith Mass this Sunday
A special mass will take place on Sunday October 14 in Galway Cathedral at 3pm to launch the “Year of Faith” for the Diocese of Galway, Kilmacduagh & Kilfenora.
Youth day at museum
The National Museum of Ireland – Country Life and Co Mayo VEC Youth Office are inviting youth groups throughout Mayo to experience a day at Turlough Park on Saturday April 10 from 10am to 4pm.
Rexband in concert
Our Ladies’ School of Evangelisation, Knock presents Rexband in concert at the Royal Theatre Castlebar, on Sunday August 30. Our Ladies’ School of Evangelisation is a charity organisation. The school is a Catholic school that runs a nine month course in evangelisation training. Its aim is to empower people to live the gospel more fully in their lives and in turn transmit the love of their faith into the wider community. This concert is one of the fund-raising efforts being made in order to keep the school open and functional.
