Renowned as the city of festivals, Galway is set to host ‘Fleadh na Bealtaine’ a brand-new traditional music and cultural festival, to mark the arrival of Summer and the many visitors to the city over the May Bank Holiday weekend from Thursday April 30 until Monday May 4.

The Galway Film Fleadh has announced the appointment of Charlene Lydon as its new festival programmer. Ms Lydon will take up the role in February.

The 36th edition of the Galway Film Fleadh will include more than 80 premieres on a number of themes when it takes place for five days beginning Thursday, July 9.
