A public engagement campaign is underway as Galway bids to win the European Capital of Culture 2020 designation. Following the success of the first ‘Speak Out’ held recently, a second event will take place in Galway Arts Centre, Lower Dominick Street tonight Thursday March 19. These ‘Speak Out’ events are part of a comprehensive public engagement programme taking place throughout Galway city and county over the coming months.

By 2016 Ireland will be the best small country in Europe in which to do business, according to An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny. At the SMEs Doing Business in Europe seminar in Knockranny House Hotel last weekend, delegates were addressed by An Taoiseach as well as the Minister for Small Business, John Perry, whose speeches echoed the need for people’s active involvement and support in the Government’s recovery plan. Ireland is “open for business” and requires participation from its people to make change happen.

The Network Mayo 2010 season kicked off last Wednesday night with a launch in Days Hotel. In attendance were business women from across the county, representing a diverse spectrum of businesses.

Liz Waters, MD of Malones of Dublin, is the guest speaker at the launch of Network Mayo 2010. Malones of Dublin are the Irish producers of a range of natural cleaning products with essential oils that won the 2009 RSVP Network Ireland Business Woman of the year award (Self Employed Category).
