Rangers win their third title bridging a 12 year gap
Mount Leinster Rangers minor hurlers bridged a twelve-year gap when they won the JV Kitchens Minor Hurling Championship, defeating the holders Naomh Eoin-Miseal at Dr Cullen Park on Sunday. The game was played in a heavy downpour of rain at the start and a gale-force wind that blew in over the Lennon stand and across the field. In fact the wind was so bad, that each side had a number of bad wides from play and to be fair the players did everything right as the ball left their hurleys it looked destined to go over the crossbar. Naomh Eoin-Miseal made all the early running and struck five wides in the opening eight minutes. Rangers had four in the first fourteen minutes.
An exciting game with a bitter end

In a moment of madness and less than a minute to go after an excellent game, the 2008 Top Oil under 21 hurling championship final came to a sudden, bitter end at Dr Cullen Park on Sunday. The reigning champions Naomh Eoin-Miseal had come from behind and were leading Erin’s Own by a goal 2-7 to 1-7. However close to full-time the Erin’s Own men were awarded a free from midfield, two players became involved in a very quick snap encounter with one another, and in a flash players came from all directions and got involved.
