This Sunday a special gathering of the football people of Ballinasloe, past and present, takes place when St Grellan's head to Kingspan Breffini Park for the All-Ireland Junior football semi-final against Armagh’s An Port Mór at 2pm.

For those of you who did not know, Ballinasloe GAA club has one of the most prolific and proud histories of any GAA club in the country. The St Grellan’s football club have won 17 Galway county senior titles and are only behind Tuam Stars with 24, on the Galway roll of honour.

Ballinasloe’s great Gaelic football years of the late seventies were relived in person and in print.
