The Galway Solemn Novena, which takes place at the Cathedral on Monday and will run until Tuesday February 25, will focus this year on achieving holiness in our day-to-day lives.

The Galway Solemn Novena, which is in its 38th year, will reflect on the Joy of Love and Family Life today when it takes place from this Monday at Galway Cathedral.

More than 300 volunteers, a Redemptorist team of 12 along with the Cathedral Staff, 62 Hymns and 10,000 people will make up The Galway Solemn Novena 2018, it was revealed this week, when the dates for this year’s Novena were confirmed.

The annual Galway Solemn Novena, which makes a welcome return on Monday February 13 and runs until Tuesday February 21 at Galway Cathedral, will focus on Mary, Icon of God’s mercy.

The Galway Solemn Novena, will begin this Monday 15 February and run until Tuesday 23 February, with over 10,000 expected to attend over the nine-day celebration. To facilitate parking for Novena Gaol Road, along the Southern and Western boundaries of Galway Cathedral will be temporarily closed. An alternative route is available along the Eastern boundary of Galway Cathedral. Local access will be maintained at all times. Advance diversion signage will be in place prior to work commencing.

The Galway Solemn Novena, which runs from Monday February 15 until Tuesday Feb 23 is asking What’s the Point? through its theme ‘Stories of God, Stories of You’ for this year’s Novena.
