€600,000 in support on offer to Galway social enterprises

Social Entrepreneurs Ireland has launched their nationwide search for people with innovative ideas and new solutions to solve some of Ireland’s biggest social and environmental problems. The 2015 Awards programme, sponsored by DCC plc, invites applications from Ireland’s brightest and most ambitious entrepreneurs with game changing ideas to solve the social problems facing Ireland.

Men’s Shed National Conference comes to Castlebar this weekend

The National Conference of The Irish Men’s Sheds Association hosted by Castlebar Men’s Shed will take place this weekend in GMIT Mayo Campus in Castlebar, starting today, Friday November 15. It is estimated that more than 300 members, or “shedders” as they are known, will attend the event from all over Ireland, with attendees from the UK and Holland also to give their experiences from Men’s Sheds in their countries. An Taoiseach Enda Kenny will also attend the conference on Saturday.

Call for Westmeath’s social entrepreneurs to apply to awards programme

Social Entrepreneurs Ireland has launched their 2012 awards programme, sponsored by DCC plc, with a call for applications from individuals in Westmeath and nationwide who are developing new, big ideas to address the social and environmental challenges we face in Ireland. Over 200 applications were received last year, with Westmeath well represented among the applicants.

Social Entrepreneurs Ireland has launched its 2012 awards programme, sponsored by DCC plc, with a call for applications from individuals in Mayo and nationwide who are developing new, big, ideas to address the social and environmental challenges we face in Ireland. Last year Sheila Gallagher of Green Sod Land Trust, with has preserved land in Mayo, was named as a finalist for the 2011 awards.

Social Entrepreneurs Ireland launched their 2011 Social Impact Programme this week with a call for applications from individuals who are developing new, big ideas to address the social and environmental challenges we face in Ireland. €500,000 in funding and support will be presented to three winners next October to help them grow and increase the impact that they are having in Ireland. Social Entrepreneurs Ireland also announced that the Social Impact Programme would be supported and sponsored by DCC plc. A new three year partnership has been agreed that will see DCC provide vital financial support as well as in-kind support.
