The Fews Ensemble from County Down will be premiering a number of works with an Ulster theme at the University of Galway’s Emily Anderson Hall this Saturday, October 5.

Once again, the entire city will be positively electric with excitement, with over fifty very special and unique cultural events happening across multiple venues for Culture Night on Friday September 22. Experience entire street transformations, innovative theatre, candlelit concerts and visual arts. Learn new skills including sign language, juggling, origami, boatbuilding and even try your hand at the harmonica! Gain a better understanding of Galway’s growing international communities including Spanish, African and nomadic cultures. Events run all day and into the night in our ‘Culture Night Late’ programme. All activities are available completely free of charge supported by the Arts Council and Galway City Arts Office.

Culture Night is a national day brought to you by the Arts Council celebrating all that makes up the richness and diversity of culture in Ireland today; connecting people to cultural activities locally and nationally and opening up pathways to ongoing engagement. There are over 40 events happening in Athenry, Ballinasloe, Ballinderreen, Ballygar, Ballyglunin, Claregalway, Clarinbridge, Clifden, Clonbur, Gort, Headford, Inagh Valley, Indrebhán, Inish Óirr, Inishbofin, Kinvara, Mountbellew, Newbridge, Oranmore, Rosscahill, Roundstone, Tuam and online.

SPRING IS here, restrictions are lifted, and musicians are ready to rise and shine, especially in south Galway for the return of the annual Carpe Diem concert.

‘SHADOWS OF Dusk’, the final concert in the Luminosa Strings Orchestra’s Arcadia series, will take place in Galway Cathedral this Sunday, November 14 at 8.30pm.

Leading Galway bands and singers, like Rofi James, Galway Street Club, Marc Roberts, Eoin Dolan, and Katie O’Connor and Steven Sharpe, will play Eyes On The Horizon, the new series of outdoor performances and happenings.

FOR 18 months the arts were in lockdown, but the autumn saw them return, and this weekend there will be events all over the city and county with Culture Night 2021, under the theme of ‘Come Together Again’.
