Full Health Medical, founded and owned by Ballintubber based Paul McCarthy and Dr Ann Shortt, was named the best emerging company at the Connacht and Leinster final of the 2012 InterTradeIreland Seedcorn all-island business competition.

Two Galway companies, Full Health Medical and Algae Health were named the Best Emerging and the Best High Growth companies respectively in the Connacht and Leinster final of the 2012 InterTradeIreland Seedcorn all-island business competition.

Galway company Advance Science, was named the Best Emerging Company in the Connacht and Leinster final of the 2011 InterTradeIreland Seedcorn all-island business competition. Advance Science, which is based in Connemara, beat tough competition from two other Connacht and Leinster finalists to win €20,000 to help finance the early stages of its ventures.

Last Tuesday morning a group of the South East’s entrepreneurs attended a preparation workshop for the All-Island Seedcorn Competition in the Ramada Hotel, Waterford.

Local entrepreneurs could get a huge cash boost for their businesses thanks to a prize fund of €280,000 being offered by InterTradeIreland’s All-Island Seedcorn Business Competition 2010. The competition is the largest on the island in terms of the prize fund available and in the past has helped give fledgling firms a ‘lift-off’.
