Local Minister of State, Deputy Robert Troy, was the recent guest of honour at a ceremony to mark the presentation of certificates to St Mary’s primary school students on behalf of the Knights of Columbanus Athlone branch in reflection of their successful RTE Angelus filming work.

The Athlone Knights of Columbanus in tandem with St Mary’s primary schoolhave produced a short film which will feature in the Angelus each Friday evening through the month of December.

As the festive season fast approaches, the Athlone branch of the Knights of St Columbanus formally unveiled their inaugural Christmas crib within the surrounds of the organisation’s courtyard in St Mary’s Place, on Friday afternoon last.
