Mount Leinster Rangers minor hurlers bridged a twelve-year gap when they won the JV Kitchens Minor Hurling Championship, defeating the holders Naomh Eoin-Miseal at Dr Cullen Park on Sunday. The game was played in a heavy downpour of rain at the start and a gale-force wind that blew in over the Lennon stand and across the field. In fact the wind was so bad, that each side had a number of bad wides from play and to be fair the players did everything right as the ball left their hurleys it looked destined to go over the crossbar.
