Animation Ireland Meitheal takes place in Galway on Friday May 22. The flagship one-day annual industry conference, which is supported by industry partner Fis Eireann/Screen Ireland, gathers the Irish animation professional community alongside leading international figures, while also welcoming crossover professionals from across Games, VFX, live action, creative media and emerging talent from around the country.

“There are ideas sitting in sheds and notebooks all over the West of Ireland,” says Kathryn Reynolds of Ardán. “We exist to make sure those stories find their way to the screen.”

In the hub of Galway’s creative quarter, within the CREW Enterprise and Innovation Hub, Ardán is quietly transforming the landscape of the Irish audio-visual industry. Its name — the Irish for stage or platform — perfectly captures its purpose: to lift up creative voices and give them a place to be heard.

Galway Film Centre takes to the Ardán (gaeilge for stage) with a new vision to grow the film, TV, games and animation industry in the west of Ireland.
