The St Patrick’s Day 5K DASH organised by Kilkenny City Harriers and Kilkenny Fit4Life Club proved to be an enjoyable and very successful event with just over 250 taking to the road and a further 100 plus juveniles on the track. Mayor Malcolm Noonan started the run which commenced at The Watershed and followed a course along the Bennettsbridge Road, a circle of The Castle Park and back to The Watershed.
Clubs unite to conquer cross-country championships

It was a happy bus load of young athletes who returned from Lough Key Forest Park, Roscommon, on Sunday evening. The bus departed with the St Senan’s athletes from Kilmacow shortly after dawn, collecting the Thomastown, Gowran and KCH athletes on the way and linking later with the boys and girls from St Joseph’s.
Local athletes make the record books in Cross Country Championships
The record books will show that Kilkenny athletes had a good day at the Leinster Cross-country championships held in Kilmacow on Sunday. Starting at noon with the juvenile relays, five Kilkenny clubs got medals.
Cats dominate Leinster cross-country championships
Kilkenny athletes had a successful outing to the Leinster cross-country championships in Adamstown, Co Wexford on Sunday when more than 30 Leinster medals were won. The best squad turned out to be the girls’ under 16 where the county team won gold and the Gowran club were second.
