IMMA collection Fabric of Identity visits Roscommon
Dress is an instant and effective display of identity and an important component of our daily lives. By means of clothing, individuals establish their sense of self as well as their place in society. Through works such as The Troubles: an Artist’s Document of Ulster by Les Levine and Green Room by Jackie Nickerson, Fabric of Identity explores the presentation of individual and collective identities, private and public personas. The exhibition also includes work by artists Marina Abramovic, James Hanley, and Janet Mullarney.
Red Riding Hood with a twist in Catch Me
Fidget Feet Aerial Dance Company are no strangers to the Roscommon stage, having worked with local schools in recent years on various aerial dance projects. Originating from Donegal, they described themselves as a pint-sized Cirque du Soleil. Their work has toured internationally to some of the biggest arts festivals in the world. This October they tour Catch Me, their brand new show for all ages where audiences get to watch as the performers swing through the air in an awe-inspiring airborne production. Catch Me comes to Roscommon Arts Centre on Tuesday October 23 at 8pm.
