Independent councillor Michael Kilcoyne has put forward four questions for the upcoming HSE Regional Forum which will take place on February 22. The four questions that Cllr Kilcoyne has out forward to be answered are: (1) Is the cost of taking a blood sample by a GP covered in all circumstances for medical card holders? If not, in what circumstances is it not covered? If a GP charges a medical card holder for taking blood in circumstances where the cost of same is covered by the medical card, what action does the HSE propose to take on the matter? (2) How many people in Mayo are on the waiting list for hip or knee replacements and the number waiting for less than 1 year, more than 1 year and more than 2 years? (3) How many dentists in County Mayo and in County Galway provide services to people under the medical card scheme? and (4) Does the Orpea Group own or operate any nursing homes in the Community Services, HSE West area of responsibility? Do they operate or provide any home care in the Community Services, HSE West area?
