More than 20,000 new Electric Vehicles sold to date this year
Some 1,776 new electric vehicles were registered in August, compared to 1,484 in August 2022 (+19.7 per cent), according to the latest new vehicle registrations statistics released ty the Society of the Irish Motor Industry.
New Electric Vehicles on sale with a higher average range
According to analysis carried out by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) in the UK, which has largely similar new car options to Ireland, the average official full range of a new electric car coming to the market for the first time in 2023 is close to 480 kilometres. That is up from 338 kilometres in 2020.
