While we had suspected for a few weeks that this morning would not bring the widescale lifting of restrictions promised back in late summer, there is still a significant shift in what we should or shouldn't do. None of us are too surprised that everything was dropped and life resumed as per pre-pandemic, especially at a time when our local hospital is under severe pressure because of a Covid outbreak affecting two wards.

Peppa and friends will take to the stage in the Royal Theatre Castlebar for a number of shows on Saturday April 2 and Sunday April 3. There will be two shows both days at 2pm and 5pm.

Unique fundraiser this Saturday at The Olive Bar
This Saturday July 24 local publican Cian Moran of The Olive Bar will hold his second annual family day in a bid to raise money for the South Westmeath Hospice. The Olive Bar will host a pig derby at 6pm followed by a barbecue and live music.
