Land Development Agency and Galway City Council publish draft Site Development Framework for Dyke Road

The Land Development Agency (LDA) and Galway City Council (GCC) have published a new draft Site Development Framework for a mixed-use development, which includes affordable and social housing, commercial, civic and cultural amenities at Dyke Road, at the edge of Galway’s city centre. The residential development is the first phase of the overall Development Framework, and a planning application will be submitted later this year.

Three Fitzpatrick sisters from Cloonfad on the Mayo-Roscommon border were celebrating this week after all three of them gave birth to babies on the same day in Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar. The three sisters gave birth to one boy and two girls in a 14 hour period, with Mairead giving birth to Thomás Og at 3.25am, Jolene giving birth to the only girl, baby Sorcha, at 11am, and Bernie giving birth to baby Phelim at 8.30pm. Meanwhile a fourth sister Christina was also due to give birth this week.
