O’Loughlin Gaels, minus the services of Martin Comerford, recorded a comprehensive victory over Tullaroan as the St Canice’s Credit Union senior hurling quarter-finals began in earnest last Saturday afternoon in Lachtain Park, Freshford.

The inter-county scene may have drawn to a close for this year but there is still plenty of hurling to be played at club level over the next month or six weeks.

Expectations were high for an epic battle between Tullaroan and Graigue Ballycallan last Sunday, where the two teams met in Nowlan Park for the first round of the senior hurling championship. With the prospect of relegation from the senior championship lurking, both parishes were very apprehensive before the game.

Tullaroan had the dream start in this St Canice’s Credit Union Senior Hurling relegation final held in Callan at the weekend. Both teams battled it out to see who would remain in senior level for 2010.
