Galway’s Pálás cinema designed by dePaor Architects, won two prestigious awards over the weekend with the building honoured by the Royal Irish Institute of Architects in Dublin and the Galvanizers Association in London.

Pálás Cinema, designed by architect Tom de Paor, and just opened last week, has been shortlisted in two categories in the prestigious International World Architecture Festival Awards (WAN) which will take place in Amsterdam this November.

A decade after it was first announced, and after many delays and setbacks along the way, Galway's three-screen arthouse cinema, Pálás, finally opens its doors tomorrow evening, Friday February 23.

INSPIRED BY the poet WB Yeats and the artist Patrick Scott, Bastard Amber, a dance production by the acclaimed Liz Roche Company, makes its Galway debut at the Town Hall Theatre next week.
