This February, NUI Galway and GMIT are working together to encourage their students to take part in the national student survey at www.studentsurvey.ie. This year, for the first time, the survey includes postgraduate research students, which means that students in the West of Ireland will have an even bigger say when it comes to shaping their experience of higher education.

NUI Galway’s academic council has approved a proposal to introduce anonymous marking of exams commencing in the next academic year (2017-18) that no student’s name will appear on the formal examination papers and students will only be identified by their student ID number.

NUI Galway will host two mindfulness-based events this November following the very successful Mindful Way Conference hosted on campus on the 9-10 October 2015. These events are the next steps towards integrating mindfulness into the University’s culture.
