A case in which a man called the Galway Rape Crisis Centre and threatened staff has been adjourned until November.

The staff at the Galway Rape Crisis Centre were forced to lodge a complaint with gardai after a Connemara man made 17 nuisance calls and threatened to break every window and then burn the centre down, the Galway District Court heard last week.

A Connemara man was ordered to refrain from making any further nuisance phone calls or sending menacing messages after nine complaints from health care workers were brought against him.

A Connemara man who allegedly made 1,400 menacing and abusive phone calls to a number of health care workers and rape crisis centres has been remanded in custody for the purpose of being assessed by the Central Mental Hospital as soon as possible.
