Mulherin highlights need for pros and cons study of power lines located above and below ground

The managing director of Ireland West International Airport, Joe Gilmore this week told the Mayo Advertiser that the joint study to develop strategic growth options for the airport will be up to the best international standards. Mr Gilmore spoke to this newspaper the day after the board of the airport held a lengthy meeting with An Taoiseach Enda Kenny, Minister for Transport, Leo Varadker, Minister of State for Tourism, Michael Ring, and the rest of the Government party’s Mayo Dáil delegation.
Fuel savings must be passed to consumers – O’Mahony
Vice chairman of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications and Fine Gael Mayo TD, John O’Mahony, has called on all fuel companies to pass on expected reductions in prices to their consumers. Deputy O’Mahony has welcomed the four cent drop in prices over the last month, but has stressed the need for the further anticipated five cent drop to be passed on to hard pressed consumers.
