The Leinster under 14 Ladies Football Blitz took place in Carlow on Monday last. Kilkenny, fresh from their Leinster C victory earlier in the year were keen to retain the Division Three title they won for the first time last year.
Last gasp goal dashes Thomastown’s Feile Peil campaign
Thomastown’s Under 14 ladies football team made the long trip to Derry for Feile Peil last weekend when a large convoy took to the motorway filled with 32 players, mentors, families and supporters. This was the fourth year in a row Thomastown have participated with Nelle Henderson and captain Sinead Whelan having the distinction in playing in all four Feile Peil tournaments.

Thomastown Ladies Under 14 Football Team will attend Feile Peil na nOg this weekend for the fourth year in a row, with two players Nelle Henderson and Sinead Whelan recording their fourth trip to the annual festival of football. In 2007 in Leitrim, Thomastown won two matches before losing out at group stage to eventual winners Kinawley of Fermanagh.
Kittens end drought as they claim provincial title
A little piece of history was created at Geraldine Park, Athy on Sunday last when Kilkenny claimed the Leinster under-14 C’ title in ladies football. The girls made a quick start to the game with a stunning six minute blitz midway through the first half which yielded three goals. Despite a second half comeback from Louth, the Kittens’ strength in front of goal had proved crucial and the deficit was too much for Louth to claw back.

Kilkenny under 14 girls made the short trip to Old Leighlin last week to face neighbours Carlow in the opening round of the Leinster under 14 football championship. The girls have been training for the past month under the guidance of PJ Whelan and Barry Hayes and made the perfect start to their campaign with a resounding win played under lights.
