More than 7,500 children and young people in Westmeath and Offaly will now have access to music tuition for the next three years thanks to a €1 million injection of funds announced this week.

The Quartet - Kira Kraftzoff, Kirill Timofeev, Misha Degtiareff, Sergio Drabkine, all cello – present a heady mix of styles and genres. With pieces by Astor Piazzolla, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Sulchan Zinzadze, Billy Strayhorn, Alfred Schnittke, Jimmy Forrest and Modest Mussorgsky amongst others, the result has to be heard to be believed.
