A new piece of sculpture which was commissioned by Westmeath County Council for the interior of the newly re developed Mullingar Town Park was installed this week.

Westmeath County Council and Mullingar Town Council are pleased to announce that the commemorative sculpture of singer and entertainer Joe Dolan will be unveiled by the Taoiseach, Brian Cowen, on Sunday, December 7 at 2pm.

The Football Association of Ireland has announced details of the 2009 under 15 international tournament which will take place in Athlone, Tullamore, and for the very first time, Mullingar. Among the teams competing are Belgium, Lithuania, Russia, and the Republic of Ireland who will compete in the four nations tournament from February 10 to 13.
