Now two of the most breathtaking sites, St Catherine’s Monastery at Mount Sinai (the oldest continuously inhabited monastery) and the fabulous mountain-top monasteries of Meteora in Greece, are working with local communities to offer accommodation and specially guided tours.
NUI Galway launches new €13 million genomics data science centre
NUI Galway has officially launched a new SFI Centre for Research Training in Genomics Data Science at a conference this week. The NUI Galway-led centre has received €13 million in funding from Science Foundation Ireland to train 115 PhD students over the next seven years in the analysis of big genomic data sets, enabling them to take up future high-skills careers across the range of genomics applications.
Athlone doctor graduates from Ireland’s largest medical conferring at RCSI
A future doctor from Athlone was amongst those who donned caps and gowns as they graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland School of Medicine (RCSI) as part of the College’s summer graduation ceremonies. Dr. James Flynn was one of 283 graduates in attendance at the event which took place in the Convention Centre in Dublin.
