Montpellier Terrace — a slice of Galway history
Whether named after the French city or another location, the terrace of spectacular period homes that is Montpellier Terrace is an iconic location steeped in Galway history.
Landmark period residence comes to market
The residential sales teams in DNG Maxwell Heaslip & Leonard have had some pretty impressive listings since the start of the year. The leading estate agency firm has already sold a considerable number of high-end properties throughout Galway city, but its most recent offering, No 7 Montpellier Terrace on Sea Road, has the team very excited indeed. One of the city’s most recognised properties due to its corner location (where the Crescent meets Sea Road) and its unusual shape, this remarkable period residence is as aesthetically pleasing on the inside as it is from the outside.
Challenge Cup Connacht’s crunch cup tie with Montpellier could prove season defining
Connacht’s season could hinge on tonight’s big clash with French side Montpellier at the Galway Sportsground (7pm). A victory for either side would ensure a top pool position and a Quarter-Final in this year’s revamped Amlin Challenge Cup competition; a defeat for Connacht would consign them to their constant struggle at the bottom of the Magners League. To top the pool - the first time since 1998 - and bag a Quarter-Final spot would provide Connacht with a home fixture against one of the best Heineken Cup sides in Europe. It is a massive incentive and would also give them some much-needed momentum to take them through the next couple of months.
