In 1937 County Galway was divided into two constituencies for election purposes, and from then until 1977, when Galway West became a four-seater, this constituency always voted in two Fianna Fáil TDs and one Fine Gael. In 1977 we voted in Bobby Molloy, Bill Loughnane, and John Martin Mannion of Fine Gael.
Galway hospitals celebrate poetry festival
The Arts Trust at Galway University Hospital is today celebrating All-Ireland Poetry Day. A poetry project called A Moment in Time has been set up and it will bring a short anthology of poems, selected by renowned poet Mark Roper, to the patients and staff of University Hospital and Merlin Park University Hospital.
