Tuesday last saw the start of the first Autism specific Summer camp in Mayo.

Mayo County Childcare Committee and the Mayo Early Intervention Service held a very successful seminar in Knockranny house hotel Westport last month. The seminar was entitled 'Early Years Inclusion Day' - Practical ways to include all children'. Dr. Geraldine French , the noted specialist in early childhood education gave an inspiring key note address to begin the day. Over 120 early childhood care and education practitioners then attended three workshops for the rest of the morning.

Parents Plus, an Irish charity that develops practical, evidence-based, parenting and mental health programmes, has awarded eight scholarships to professionals working with children and families throughout Ireland.
