Connemara basketball fans are in for a treat this weekend as Maigh Cuilinn prepares to host their opening National Cup game in Spórtlann Mhichael Mhóir, Leitir Móir, against the formidable Portlaoise Panthers. Tip-off is set for this Saturday at 7pm.

After a long road it was a day for the communities of Newcastle and Moycullen to celebrate, in particular the hard-working committee who, for over 20 years, have been involved on the road that led to a €10 million announcement to deliver new community centres in Newcastle and Maigh Cuillinn. These new centres will support thousands of residents in Newcastle, Dangan, Bushypark, Maigh Cuillinn, and the many community groups and schools in the area.

After four tight quarter-final games, the semi-finalists for this year's club football championship are decided. Milltown will face Corofin after both sides secured two-point wins in Tuam Stadium, and Mountbellew/Moylough will play Maigh Cuillinn after both teams secured one-point victories in Pearse Stadium on Sunday.
