Some might argue that the entertainment value wasn’t as high as other years, but in terms of trophies won surely ‘08 will never be surpassed. Last Sunday’s victory merely put the icing on the cake and it was the perfect ending to a perfect year.

Tullogher-Rosbercon enjoyed their greatest day in the 120 year history of the club as they typified the strong character of Kilkenny hurling teams to grind out victory over Clongeen in a famous day for the South Kilkenny club.

Alas! It was not to be. The hurling world down leeside may be dominated by the controversies of the ongoing strike by the inter-county senior panel, but the parishes of Dripsey and Blarney are in celebration mode following an All-Ireland double last Sunday.
