One of Galway’s longest established recreational facilities looks set to shut down its swimming pool and gym operations due to financial difficulties.

The Galway City Council and the board of Leisureland have engaged a firm of consultants to carry out a feasibility study on the site adjacent to Leisureland which has traditionally been used as a funfair and for other activities such as ice rink, etc, over the years.
