Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has this week announced a new service flying three times a week between Ireland West Airport Knock and Leeds Bradford Airport in the UK. The new route will commence on March 25 and will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. This will be the third addition to Flybe’s route network at the airport following the introduction of new services to Edinburgh and Manchester last year.

The new service, which is due to commence on May 4, is the third scheduled European sun destination to be launched from Ireland West Airport Knock following the commencement of the twice weekly service to Alicante last year and the new twice weekly service to Faro which will commence on March 25.

Ireland West Airport Knock has benefited from a fallout between Ryanair and Shannon Airport. Due to Shannon’s refusal of Ryanair’s offer to keep four aircraft based in Shannon, Ryanair decided to switch the popular Faro (Portugal) route from Shannon to Ireland West Airport. Shannon’s loss is Knock’s gain and the new route is a welcome addition to IWAK’s ever expanding selection of routes.
