In keeping with a much-loved tradition on the historic Victorian estate in Connemara, Kylemore Abbey will once again host its Annual Christmas Shopping Weekend on November 15 and 16, inviting festive shoppers to enjoy a relaxed and atmospheric start to the Christmas season.

Heritage Week 2025 kicks off nationwide on August 16, and Kylemore Abbey is celebrating this year’s theme, “Exploring Our Foundations”, by offering a week of onsite and online talks, guided nature walks, and live music.

Later, after passing through the hands of the Duke and Duchess of Manchester, it became home to a Benedictine Community of Nuns who were fleeing war-torn Belgium. In 1920, it was transformed into the iconic Kylemore Abbey. The Estate continues to be a home and place of worship to the Benedictine Community, who celebrated their centenary year in Kylemore in 2020.

Nestled in the heart of Connemara, Kylemore invites visitors of all ages to discover a timeless Easter experience surrounded by breathtaking beauty and rich heritage.

Old Ireland in Colour, a photography exhibition featuring work from the best-selling books of the same name, launched at Kylemore Abbey this week. The exhibition will run until late Autumn 2025 in the Victorian castle and will be part of the heritage experience which welcomes over 500,000 visitors each year.
