A priest is appealing to mindless vandals, who are continuously breaking a valuable window at a city centre church, to consider the impact of their actions. There has been 20 separate incidents recorded at the Augustinian Church over the past 18 months.

There was terrific entertainment at the Connacht club championship semi-final last Sunday. The opening 30 minutes was as good as I have seen at club level this year. The first half was a real quality contest, very exciting with fast flowing end to end action, some wonderful scores, and generally two teams having a right go at advancing to a Connacht final. City centre hostel sold

Kinlay House Hostel in the city centre has been sold. The sale of the hostel, which has been in receivership since 2009, was confirmed this week by estate agents CB Richard Ellis.
