Award for Galway city solicitor at the Irish Law Awards
The prestigious annual Irish Law Awards event took place on Friday June 14 hosting in excess of 500 members of the legal profession for an event in the Convention Centre, Dublin. The Irish law awards, sponsored by Dye & Durham Corporation, recognises the remarkable achievements of legal professionals across Ireland. There are 19 judges on the judging panel, many of whom are members of the profession themselves. The master of ceremonies on the night was Ivan Yates, the well-known broadcaster, businessman and former politician.

Now, this is a compilation by Mick Donnellan of nineteen writers who attended his creative writing course for the last number of months. Successful St. Patrick’s weekend festival tinged with loss of life tragedies
Well, well, so much has happened in the last seven days that it truly is difficult to know where to begin, or on what topic. But we’ll start with a good one, the St. Patrick’s Day parade which was held in Athlone on the Saturday, March 16, rather than on the 17th. There was a lot of Facebook criticism about the decision to shift back to the Saturday, but the volunteer committee who are the backbone of the parade arrangements stuck to their guns, and it turned out to be a great success.
