Croi talk will be ‘wake-up call’ for women

Local heart specialist, Dr Yvonne Smyth will give a free public talk in the Croí Heart and Stroke Centre on Thursday October 1 at 7.30pm specifically aimed at local women. The talk entitled Women and Heart Disease is being organised by local heart and stroke charity Croí to raise awareness among women of the fact that heart disease is not just a man’s disease.

Originally from Dublin, Sr Irene spent 16 years living a prayerful and contemplative life in her hermitage in Drummin, Westport. It was during this time that Irene completed this body of work consisting of religious icons.
