There has been a record number of people at the open viewings which are held every week, with investors realising that this could be the last opportunity to acquire properties prior to the next Budget — if they hold the property for a period of seven years they will have no capital gains tax which is a huge incentive, particularly for cash investors.

After a very successful five-week promotion of the properties due to go to auction tomorrow O’Donnellan and Joyce foresee a huge turnout and a successful conclusion to the auction. In all, eight properties will go under the hammer, originally there were nine, but the property at 124 Dangan Heights was sold prior to auction when a substantial offer was made within the first three weeks of the campaign and the owners made the decision to accept it.
O’Donnellan & Joyce marches forward with its second large auction of the season
On Friday September 30 the Victoria Hotel was bursting at the seams when O’Donnellan & Joyce launched its winter auctions with 15 properties going under the hammer on the first of three big auctions. So big was the crowd that O’Donnellan & Joyce had a second large screen set up in the bar area of the hotel where potential purchasers and clients could see the live auction and follow each property as it was being auctioned off by auctioneer Colm O’Donnellan. On that day 10 of the 15 properties sold under the hammer, with four of the remaining properties selling after the auction.
