MyHome.ie records increase in Galway property sales during lockdown
The number of properties sold in the first four months of 2021 in Galway is up 2.2 per cent compared to the same stage of last year despite the fact that the country was in lockdown for the whole of that period. Data from the Property Price Register, analysed by property website MyHome.ie, shows that there were 737 sales between January 1 and April 30. This compares with 721 transactions recorded in the county in the same period of last year.

A call has been made to name a street after Christopher Folan, a 17-year-old from Woodquay, who was murdered in his home by British Crown Forces in 1921.
